The new school serves 675 students in a 57,129 SF two-story classroom building over a 27,000 SF parking garage. The building also includes an Early Education Center for 176 children. The K-5 elementary school has four kindergarten classrooms, 23 classrooms for grades 1-5, library, administration offices, small group and special resource rooms, toilet rooms and an elevator. The 9,300 SF single-story Multipurpose Building houses the kithcen, faculty dining and 3,926 SF multipurpose room with a stage that can also open to the exterior 2,000 SF lunch shelter. The project includes separate pre-school and elementary school playgrounds, landscaping, energy management system and off-site improvements including traffic signals. The school was designed to achieve 43 points on the Collaborative for High Performance Schools criteria, which evaluate a school’s energy efficiency as well as its design, construction and operation.
