St. Jude Advanced Technology Center
The St Jude Cardiac Rhythm Management Division needed a new state-of-the-art training facility, located within an existing industrial / office building already located on campus. The renovations could not interrupt the 24-hour manufacturing process in the floor below. The new facility would also focus on the history and technology of the company’s pacemaker device.
The project was created in two phases:
• Conference | Learning Center
• Advanced Technology Center
Phase One included three conference rooms, providing learning opportunities for up to 29 staff and guest physicians. Advanced presentation systems were planned for, including video, and a computer network for video and laptops, to provide a fully interactive teaching environment.
Phase Two included a state-of-the-art simulated electrophysiology laboratory, office workstations, waiting area, restrooms, conference room, training room and control center.
The design itself provides a contemporary yet warm and accommodating environment that furthers the St. Jude brand as a leader in the medical field. Careful consideration of the design of custom casework, the function of specialized presentation tools, and the selection of furniture and equipment all support the design.
