CAL STATE SAN MARCOS STUDENT HOUSING
The new Classroom Building is a two-story 57,129 SF structure over a 27,000 SF parking garage. The building includes an Early Education Center for 176 children in seven classrooms; and a K-5 Elementary School for 675 children with four kindergarten classrooms, 23 classrooms for grades 1-5, library, administration offices, small group and special resource rooms, toilet rooms and an elevator. The 9,300 SF single-story Multipurpose Building houses the kithcen, faculty dining and 3,926 SF multipurpose room with a stage that can also open to the exterior 2,000 SF lunch shelter. The classroom building is fully sprinklered, Type II, steel framed construction; the multipurpose building is Type V-1 hr, fully sprinklered, steel framed construction. The project includes separate pre-school and elementary school playgrounds, landscaping, energy management system and off-site improvements including traffic signals.
