Church growth had overburdened the existing 250-seat chapel space forcing the relocation of vital church programs. ONYX created a new updated 900-seat multi-function worship center for use by university students, weddings, musical performances, conferences and classes. The steel-framed design ties in with the recent remodel of the adjacent main sanctuary and the surrounding Loma Linda University campus architecture. The site design and articulation of the structure creates a new public presence for the church facility and establishes an entry archway to announce the access point for the church campus and sanctuary. The semi-transparency of the exterior façade will create a visual connection to the programs featured inside as well as opening up the building to the exterior lawn events area for large church family gatherings.
