Originally constructed in 1958 as the Van Vechten Laundry and designed by the distinguished post-war architectural firm, Smith & Williams, the one-story International Style building features floor-to-ceiling glass curtain walls and within a post and beam structure, carefully preserved as part of its adaptive reuse.
The plan integrates two open play areas for large and small dogs, a dog therapy room, grooming stations, and a retail section offering toys and treats, aligning operational efficiency and safety with a welcoming client experience.

Interior finishes and fixtures were selected by the tenant and incorporated into the architectural documentation, with construction self-performed by the client.
ONYX helped rebrand the Ganahl Lumber sites in Southern California to create a unified brand experience inspired by the family business's values and history.
