Sequoia Apartments is the newest joint venture of Homes for Life and Little Tokyo Service Center to develop permanent supportive housing for Chronic Mentally Ill adults who qualify for more independent living.
The apartment complex provides freedom and autonomy for residents while meeting high standards of a quality supportive environment.
The project, funded through a HUD 811 award, a HUD Supportive Housing Program grant (providing capital expenditures and supportive services), and 9% Tax Credits, provides 25 one-bedroom apartments with living rooms, kitchens, and private baths.
A live-in residential manager and supportive services counselors are on-site and made available to homeless residents.
The rooftop recreational deck provides privacy and panoramic mountain views.
The joint venture is with Little Tokyo Service Center. Psychiatric and medication support will also be provided by the San Fernando Valley Community Mental Health Center, Inc.
