ONYX, in partnership with National CORE, designed a 144-unit affordable housing community along the Holt Boulevard corridor in downtown Ontario, advancing solutions to California’s critical housing shortage.
The 4 story residential building provides a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom units organized to maximize efficiency, livability, and long-term durability for working families.

The design incorporates on-site amenities such as a pool, recreation community room, and lots of garden space, creating a resident-focused environment that supports stability and quality of life.

The project is funded through California’s Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities (AHSC) Program, which awarded approximately $30 million to support both housing development and broader neighborhood investment.
ONYX’s scope centers on the residential component, delivering a thoughtful, code-compliant design that integrates within a rapidly evolving urban corridor.

The Cesar Chavez Foundation asked ONYX to create a conceptual design for a multifamily housing development.
